Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has promised the club’s fans that they should put their fears to rest and that they will be putting up their best performance against Manchester United when the two sides meet in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League fixture this season. The two clubs have been pitted against one another in the round of 16 knockout round and with one team’s progress to the next round going to be detrimental to the other’s they will both be expected to put everything on the line to ensure that they proceed to the round of 8 knowkout round. However, both teams have been somewhat underwhelming in their recent league games as they have been battling for form and consistency.

Manchester United have particular been awful in recent times and have been failing to win games that they have needed to, in order to boost their chances of a top four finish at the end of the season. Atletico, on the other hand, have been poor lately in their performances as well. I’m their last six games in all competitions, they have won just twice and lost four times. They lost against Athletic Club in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup by 2-1.

The Puskas Award caters to the best goals scored during the course of the year.Luis Suarez was one of the 11 nominees that made list announced on Thursday as far as the latest edition of the Puskas Award is concerned. Barcelona fell to a disappointing 4-3 loss to Real Betis at the Nou Camp on Sunday evening and have seen their lead on the top of the La Liga table closed down to just a point.
